Safety is important and especially with the recent violence in our community, we are reminded of just how necessary self defense skills are. In this 2 hour workshop, you will learn about:
· Awareness – learn how to stay safe and prevent potential attacks
· Strikes and Escapes – if you are attacked, what do you do?
· Verbal De-Escalation – you’ve got a voice, learn how to use it!
· Setting Boundaries – self defense goes beyond violence in the streets
· Practice Scenarios – practice what you’ve learned in a safe environment
· Safety Tips and Q&A – answers to your biggest safety questions

The Instructors
José Miguel Rosas is a 10th degree black belt in Seibukan Jujutsu. He is the chief instructor and founder of Nanatokan Martial Arts Academy in Santa Cruz and has been training in martial arts for the past 17 years. He currently teaches and holds black belts in the Ninjutsu, Battojutsu and Aikido.
Stephanie Tam Rosas is a 3rd degree black belt in Seibukan Jujutsu and has taught self-defense workshops for the past 4 years. She has a Masters in Counseling Psychology and runs groups for young women that focus on healthy relationships, identifying their personal power and the tools to be assertive.
Jeffrey Rubin is a 4th degree black belt in Seibukan Jujutsu and has been participating in the intensive training at Nanatokan since October 2012. He also practices the arts of Ninjutsu, Battojutsu and Aikido.
